Oct 28–30, 2026 · Vancouver, BC

One dome, three days, and everybody in the same conversation.

Opening night, then two full program days at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, presented by the BC + AI Ecosystem Association.

The three days

Opening night. Two program days. The whole pass.

This is the shape of Futureproof Festival — not a published timetable. Come for the threshold, stay for the people, leave with a conversation that keeps moving.

Wednesday · Oct 28

Opening night

The festival opens at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. The opening-night creative AI live set brings artists who treat AI as an instrument into the room — generative visuals, live-coded sound, and the first chance to meet the people you came for.

Thursday · Oct 29

First full program day

A full day of conversation, creative work, and practical ideas under one planetarium dome. The 2nd Annual BC + AI Film Festival runs inside the pass — there is no separate film ticket.

Friday · Oct 30

Second program day + close

Another full day to go deeper with the same people, then the AI Film Festival closing party carries the energy into the evening. The Festival Pass covers all three days — there are no single-day passes.

Why Vancouver

This conversation needed a hometown.

Vancouver AI Community has been meeting in public for years before anyone called it a festival. Three days at the Space Centre are what that hometown conversation grows into.

Community proof

Three days in a room that already knows how to gather.

Six signals

Questions that run through all three days.

Six signals name the communities and pressures in the invitation. They are not a published timetable.

Creativity

Film, performance, creative practice, and the strange weather AI makes in public.

Ethics

Critical voices staying at the table until moral weight becomes practice.

Community

Actual people finding their role in the work instead of watching the show.

Builders

Demos, craft, small models, open tools, and receipts over pitch decks.

Literacy

Plain-language confidence for people who refuse to be dazzled or dismissed.

Resilience

Gathering humans while the tools pull attention apart.
