About Kristen Delphos
Kristen Delphos is Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs at UL Research Institutes, an independent safety science organization. She leads the communications strategy that connects its researchers with policymakers, regulators, academic partners, and the public, after senior global communications roles at Dematic, ABB, GE Industrial Solutions, ADT, and UPS. The hardest part of her job is making science interesting to people who aren't scientists. Inside an organization wary of AI, she set her team three expectations: trust it, explain it, and build it yourself. That work produced an AI storytelling model that matches the hero's journey to the scientific method.
