Look for the salmon shirts.

You’ll find people wearing them gathered around a laptop backstage and together in the foyer. They’re a way to find some of the volunteers who helped make the first Futureproof Festival happen at Vancouver’s H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, October 28–30, 2026.

This thank-you is for you. For the time and care you put into the festival, and for being part of something we were making for the first time.

The people behind the shirts

Thank you, Anahita Alam, Andrey Krokhin, Andrii Kavetskyi, Darya Li, Debbie Krug, Diaco Barzi, Ekaterina, Farnaz Kimya, Jeremy McMullin, Kelly Krug, Kimberly Nnabue, Maksym Tor, Max Putilin, Oksana Makarova, Oleg Vasilev, Olesia Mikheeva, Rnold Smith, Susanna Kurakina, Urvi Sengar and Volodya Trokhymenko.

A few photographs, and a proper thank-you

The photographs bring us back to the people: a few together backstage, a pair in the foyer, portraits in the salmon shirts, and the wider festival crew gathered on stage. We’ve chosen a short sequence here, with more volunteer photographs in the gallery.

Thank you, whether you’re in these photographs or not. We’re glad we got to make Futureproof with you.
