The people behind the festival

A first festival. Years of showing up.

Futureproof Festival grows out of Vancouver AI and BC + AI. The photographs here come from those earlier gatherings: people sharing work, asking questions and finding reasons to keep talking.

Futureproof Festival 2026 is the first edition. The community behind it is not new. 36 announced speakers so far. 14 named collaborators so far. Vancouver AI filled the Space Centre for its January gathering: 250, January 2026 (Vancouver AI recap). These are BC + AI community numbers. They are not past Futureproof Festival attendance, sponsor outcomes, or a promise about what happens next.
