Futureproof Festival is an AI culture festival built as a focused founding room, produced by the BC + AI Ecosystem Association, a 1,000+ member nonprofit born out of the monthly Vancouver AI Meetup. The 2026 launch gathers artists, engineers, educators, ethicists, filmmakers, founders, students, policy people, researchers, and community leaders in Vancouver for one shared arc: critique and curiosity together, practical work beside culture, and enough honesty to make the 2027 festival reveal feel earned instead of announced.

I would say, even those who are critical or skeptical of AI for good reasons, we need those people at the table the most. Otherwise, it's just gonna be the hypers and the boosters that get to make all the decisions of the future.
