We have three pathways for people who can't pay full price. Apply early — spots are limited and filled on a rolling basis.
About 30 volunteer slots available across the weekend. Volunteers get a full pass in exchange for shifts at registration, AV support, or front-of-house. Flexible scheduling around the sessions you want to attend.
A limited number of supported passes are available for people who would not otherwise be able to attend. Priority to community members, students, and people from underrepresented groups. Apply with a short note on why you want to come.
Buy a Pay-It-Forward Weekend Pass at $1,098 and your second ticket goes directly to a scholarship applicant. You come, and someone who couldn't otherwise afford to comes with you.
Anyone with an active individual or organizational membership at bc-ai.ca. New members save more on a single festival purchase than the cost of joining.
Yes — single-day Weekend Passes are available for both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday includes the film festival; Sunday closes with the Squatchies Awards.
No — the Friday opening party is included with Weekend Pass and VIP Weekend at no extra charge.
Full refund until June 30, 2026. 50% refund July 1 – August 31. No refunds after September 1 — tickets are transferable to another attendee with 7 days' notice and a $25 admin fee.
Yes — student ID check at registration. Student Weekend tier is for full-time students only.
Yes — Film Festival (Sat eve) standalone tickets are available from $49 for members with early bird pricing.
