The ticket desk
One pass, CA$950, and it is the whole festival: opening night, both program days, the closing party. No tiers, no add-ons, nothing held back for a more expensive ticket. That is the entire pricing model.
Who it is for: people whose decisions shape what comes next. Founders and company leaders, studio heads and artists, technology and research leaders, public servants, educators, and community leaders, together for three days. You do not need to work in AI to belong here, and you do not need to have made up your mind about it.

From the festival director
Since 2024 the best AI conversations in this city have been happening at the Space Centre on a weeknight. 250 people packed in for the January meetup. Four data storytelling hackathons. Kevin Friel starting a film club in 2025 and running a whole festival out of it. Nobody planned any of this. People showed up, found each other, and did the work.
Futureproof Festival is that, given three days and a proper stage. Brewster Kahle from the Internet Archive is going to talk about saving the web and what a library owes the people who haven't been born yet. Amber Case is going to ask what AI should feel like when it's actually made for humans. Michael Running Wolf is bringing the Indigenous language reclamation work and the harder question of who owns the systems underneath it. Taleeb Noormohamed is coming straight from the federal AI policy table. Philippe Pasquier is making art with the machines without handing them authorship. That's 31 people so far, and every one of them said yes. Nobody is coming to sell you a roadmap.
A Festival Pass is CA$950. That's opening night, both days, and the closing party, done. If your plans change, hand the pass to someone else, free, right up to the day before doors. Come appropriately freaked out. Leave with people you'll still be texting in March.

What the pass opens

Wednesday · October 28
Doors, then the opening-night creative AI live set: artists using AI as an instrument, generative visuals, live-coded sound. Then you meet everybody.
Thursday · October 29
A full program day: talks, hands-on work, the startup tables, and the people you came for.
Friday · October 30
Second full day, then the closing party. No separate ticket.
Besides sitting there
Listening is great. Building, exhibiting, and finding your next co-founder are better. Every one of these runs on the same pass.
Speaker announcements and program drops as they happen. Nothing else.
Expense it
If the ticket needs a manager's approval, copy this, fill in the two brackets, and send it. It already carries the dates, current price, and the refund and transfer schedule, which is the part managers actually ask about.
Bringing a crew?
Group pricing is available for five or more on one booking, handled directly. Email us with how many passes you need and who they're for.
hello@bc-ai.ca →Hi [manager name], I'd like approval to attend Futureproof Festival, October 28 to 30, 2026, at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre in Vancouver. It's three days on how AI is actually landing in work, culture, and public life, with people showing real work rather than selling a roadmap. What I want out of it is [one line on the problem you're working on]. Cost is one Festival Pass: CA$950. If plans change: Full refund until August 22, 2026. 50% refund August 23 through August 31, 2026. Transfers only from September 1, 2026 onward. A pass can also be transferred to someone else on the team, so the spend isn't stranded if my schedule moves. If approved, I'll write up what's relevant and share the most useful ideas with the team afterward. [your name]

Yes, CA$250 for all three days, and it is the same festival everyone else is at. There is no student button at checkout: email hello@bc-ai.ca from the address you want the pass issued to, and bring a valid student ID to registration. That is the whole check.

Yes. Group pricing is available for teams of five or more on the same booking; it's handled directly rather than through a public code. Email hello@bc-ai.ca with how many passes you need and who they are for, and we'll sort you out. One piece of advice from running these before: teams get more out of it when they split up during the day and compare notes at night, rather than moving through the festival as a block.
The festival is anchored at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, and the venue's public information lists accessible entry and accessible washrooms. We will publish seating, room routing, and mobility notes closer to the festival. Email kk@bc-ai.ca with specific needs before the festival so routing, seating, and support can be planned around you.
Live captioning is planned for the main-stage sessions. If you have specific accessibility needs, email kk@bc-ai.ca before the event.
Yes. See /code-of-conduct. It covers all festival spaces, evening events, and online spaces. It applies equally to everyone in the room: ticket holders, speakers, sponsors, and organizers.
