Come argue with us in person.

Brewster Kahle, Amber Case, Michael Running Wolf, Ana Serrano, and 27 more people who show their work. Three days at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. One pass covers all of it.

The ticket desk

One pass. All three days. No upsell.

One pass, CA$950, and it is the whole festival: opening night, both program days, the closing party. No tiers, no add-ons, nothing held back for a more expensive ticket. That is the entire pricing model.

Who it is for: people whose decisions shape what comes next. Founders and company leaders, studio heads and artists, technology and research leaders, public servants, educators, and community leaders, together for three days. You do not need to work in AI to belong here, and you do not need to have made up your mind about it.

From the festival director

Here's the thing.

Since 2024 the best AI conversations in this city have been happening at the Space Centre on a weeknight. 250 people packed in for the January meetup. Four data storytelling hackathons. Kevin Friel starting a film club in 2025 and running a whole festival out of it. Nobody planned any of this. People showed up, found each other, and did the work.

Futureproof Festival is that, given three days and a proper stage. Brewster Kahle from the Internet Archive is going to talk about saving the web and what a library owes the people who haven't been born yet. Amber Case is going to ask what AI should feel like when it's actually made for humans. Michael Running Wolf is bringing the Indigenous language reclamation work and the harder question of who owns the systems underneath it. Taleeb Noormohamed is coming straight from the federal AI policy table. Philippe Pasquier is making art with the machines without handing them authorship. That's 31 people so far, and every one of them said yes. Nobody is coming to sell you a roadmap.

A Festival Pass is CA$950. That's opening night, both days, and the closing party, done. If your plans change, hand the pass to someone else, free, right up to the day before doors. Come appropriately freaked out. Leave with people you'll still be texting in March.

Read and copy the note
Hi [manager name],

I'd like approval to attend Futureproof Festival, October 28 to 30, 2026, at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre in Vancouver.

It's three days on how AI is actually landing in work, culture, and public life, with people showing real work rather than selling a roadmap. What I want out of it is [one line on the problem you're working on].

Cost is one Festival Pass: CA$950.

If plans change: Full refund until August 22, 2026. 50% refund August 23 through August 31, 2026. Transfers only from September 1, 2026 onward. A pass can also be transferred to someone else on the team, so the spend isn't stranded if my schedule moves.

If approved, I'll write up what's relevant and share the most useful ideas with the team afterward.

Practical answers

The useful stuff before checkout.

Prices, what the pass covers, the student rate, travel, and access. If buying isn't the route, volunteering is.

These are the same answers as the full FAQ, which covers the program, the venue, and getting here.

What does the Festival Pass include?

One pass, all three days: opening night on October 28, the full program on October 29 and 30, and the closing party. There is no separate closing ticket and there are no single-day passes. If it is on the festival program, your pass opens it.

Festival overviewGet tickets on Luma

What are the current pass prices?

Why is this so expensive?

The public Festival Pass is CA$950 and covers all three days: opening night, both program days, and the closing party. The price carries the venue, the production crew, and the performance programming that a lot of events sell back to you as an add-on. Active BC + AI members receive 25% off at checkout.

How does the BC + AI member discount work?

Active BC + AI members receive 25% off, applied at checkout rather than through a code posted here. Membership itself is handled by BC + AI at bc-ai.ca. If you are already a member and the discount is not showing up, email hello@bc-ai.ca before you buy rather than paying full price and asking us to fix it after.

Is there a student rate?

Yes, CA$250 for all three days, and it is the same festival everyone else is at. There is no student button at checkout: email hello@bc-ai.ca from the address you want the pass issued to, and bring a valid student ID to registration. That is the whole check.

Are taxes or checkout fees added to the Luma price?

Prices are in CAD. No separate tax or checkout fee is added to the price shown on Luma. Checkout is handled on Luma.

Ticket terms

What do I receive after checkout, and how do I check in?

After purchase, the Luma confirmation email links to the QR ticket. The ticket is also available when signed in to Luma, in the Luma app, or in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. At check-in, staff can scan the QR code or look up the attendee by name.

Travel planningTicket terms

Is there a group or corporate discount?

Yes. Group pricing is available for teams of five or more on the same booking; it's handled directly rather than through a public code. Email hello@bc-ai.ca with how many passes you need and who they are for, and we'll sort you out. One piece of advice from running these before: teams get more out of it when they split up during the day and compare notes at night, rather than moving through the festival as a block.

Are all venues wheelchair accessible?

The festival is anchored at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, and the venue's public information lists accessible entry and accessible washrooms. We will publish seating, room routing, and mobility notes closer to the festival. Email kk@bc-ai.ca with specific needs before the festival so routing, seating, and support can be planned around you.

Attendee guide

Will sessions be captioned?

Live captioning is planned for the main-stage sessions. If you have specific accessibility needs, email kk@bc-ai.ca before the event.

Attendee guide

Does the festival have a Code of Conduct?

Yes. See /code-of-conduct. It covers all festival spaces, evening events, and online spaces. It applies equally to everyone in the room: ticket holders, speakers, sponsors, and organizers.
