About Dr. Brad Necyk
Brad Necyk, PhD, MFA, is an artist, researcher, and computer science and AI teacher at Shawnigan Lake School. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at York University through the Vision: Science to Applications (VISTA) program, specializing in creative applications of artificial intelligence. His artistic practice focuses on AI filmmaking, computational art, and emerging forms of digital expression. His current work centres on The Cyberdelic Kernel, an experimental software paradigm that reimagines software itself as an artistic medium, developing applications, computational systems, and novel file formats as works of art. Through his artistic research and teaching, he explores how AI is transforming not only what we create, but the very tools and systems through which creativity becomes possible.
