About Dean Shev
Dean Shev is CTO and co-founder of Virtual Healthcare Technologies, a Vancouver company building ethical healthcare AI for patients. At VHT.ai he leads the architecture of ECHNA, an empathetic care and health navigation assistant, along with the platform’s clinical data systems, privacy-first infrastructure, and Digital Twin technology, which pulls scattered personal health records into guidance people can use. ECHNA is designed for preventive support, not diagnosis. VHT.ai is built to operate under US HIPAA and Canadian PHIPA, with a live iOS beta in the field. He also works in business analytics at Fraser Health’s Centre of Advanced Analytics, Data Science and Innovation, and in 2025 he took first place in Vancouver AI’s data storytelling competition.
